We lived next to Maureen and Bob Back in 1992.Our son Tyler, then age 4 would Stand on the radiator in his bedroom And have conversations through the window On the side of the house and next to theirs, with "Mr.Bobby" , as bob affectionately became known. To this day my son now 31Still remembers talking About power rangers,Trucks and our dog moose with Mr.Bobby.He was always funny and sweet And even after we moved away we would see him at the card store, deli or post office and Talk for a few minutes .Through Christmas cards and special events we have kept in touch over the years. We are sending thoughts and prayers to Maureen and family. I lived in the house across the street from Bob and Maureen from the time they moved until I sold my house in 2016. Earlier on they were probably more my Parents friends, but after I returned from the service and bought the house from my parents, we became friends with the whole family. Even before that Bob would often offer to help me, giving me lifts to events where my parents weren’t able. Eventually we celebrated lots of events such as birthdays, graduations, and weddings together. New Years with the Fowlers was always fun. Bob was always there to help in the bad times as well. Now the saddest of them all. We will miss him.

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Fowler family. You all sound like a wonderfully close and loving group and I get a better picture of what kind of man Bob was. I didn’t know him well, as we’d only met a few times. But I know his son John very well. He is my son-in-law. And John is one of the very best men I’ve ever known. He has made my daughter, Raven, very happy and I also love him for that. So, I give thanks, respect, and affection to John’s dad and his sweet mother, Maureen, for bringing John into the world. The lives Robert touched made a difference. He will be missed by many. I know his memory will be a blessing.

I will always cherish my fond memories of Bob.
Big in stature, kindness and humor. Bob loved to share a great story, joke or new card game.
His kindness, love and devotion to Maureen, his children and Grandchildren were always so clearly evident when we spoke.
When I was young I always thought of Bob as my uncle. Then there came a time I called him my cousin. As we both got older we became more like Friends.
I will always remember and cherish my fond memories of my Uncle, Cousin, and most importantly My Friend Bob.

I can honestly say I’ve never seen him angry nor anyone ever angry with him. With that group, that’s quite a feat. Lol. He will be missed by me and all the guys here. Where to begin...Bob the Gentle Giant is the best way I can describe him. We first met in February 1985 when the both of us were hired to work in the Security Department at LIJ hospital, he as a Supervisor and I as a Secretary. As the years past we became friends as well as co-workers. I always knew the love he had for his family just by the way he talked about John's accomplishments and how proud he was and Debbie when she Graduated Nursing school and started working in the hospital in Mineola, he was all smiles. When his Grandaughters Rebecca and Shauna were born, although he could be a very private person, his happiness was all over his face. And of course his wife Maureen was the most important person in his life. He used to tell me stories of their
early days with smiles and a few jokes thrown in. Bob and Maureen and Joe and myself loved going to Atlantic City. He enjoyed his book and his time at the pool during the day and the casino at night. I always loved his stories of adventure when he was there. I could go on and on but I don't want to take up the entire wall!!!
Joe and I send our heartfelt condolences to you Maureen and to John, Raven, Debbie, Rebecca and Shauna. There are no words to really let you know how much he will be missed

Dear Maureen, John, Debbie, Rebecca, Shauna, & family - my deepest condolences on the passing of Bob. My fondest memories are working with him at LIJ Security. He would always make a bad day better by telling his jokes & telling stories of his AC trips with Maureen. He always would make my husband, Al, & I feel comfortable at their home. We had moved from NY 4 years ago & came back to visit 2 years ago, & we made sure to get together with Maureen & Bob for a meal out. I will miss his jokes & stories, which were plentiful. I saw his granddaughters grow up into fine young ladies. Maureen & Bob actually share their wedding anniversary with my husband & I, which happens to be today. We will be thinking of them & toasting them today with a little wine , as I know Maureen would appreciate. Wish we could be there to hug everyone. May he rest in peace & know he will truly be missed. - Ginny Bierschenk

For the last 6 years he played cards with my friends and I, we loved having him and I believed he loved coming here. We also became friends and enjoyed many walks and dinners together. He taught my friends and I many different poker games and other things. One of the games he taught us was "Good guy, bad guy, and HE was a GOOD GUY. I will miss him terribly.
