I had the pleasure of knowing Max for many years, assisting him with using the computer. He was always eager to learn, and I was impressed with his intelligence. He was always kind and thoughtful, and I admired how he and Connie were a very devoted couple. He would tell me stories about his glass business, his time serving in the Pacific during World War II, and his childhood in Bay Shore. I have very fond memories of him, and think of him often. My condolences to Connie, David, and the rest of the family. May he rest in peace.

I remember Uncle Max as a kind and gentle man, always with a smile and a glimmer in his eyes. I enjoyed chatting with him at my grandma’s home in Bayshore and at visits with my parents in Huntington. I know that he use to travel to Jonathon’s in Huntington just to get his favorite specialties. Years later when I moved to the South Shore, it was always a pleasant surprise to run into him in the local stores.
May your good memories of him comfort you in this difficult time.

Poppi, you will be missed by all who knew you. Your infectious smile brought joy to so many people. You were always up for any adventure and were always up for a game of rummy (and beat me on numerous occasions too!) You always greeted me with warmth and kindness and though we only knew each other for a short time, I will remember you always. May the entire family be comforted by the many positive memories of you.

David, I was privileged to meet your grandfather fairly late in life. They say that the eyes are the gateway to a person's soul. While he was not able to communicate well at that point, one could see in his eyes the determination of a man his years. You have told us many a story about Max's life and your responsibility is to not only to remember and cherish these thoughts but to pass them on as lessons in life. "Pay it forward" as the movie goes.
May you find comfort with the passing of time. Myron

I was not fortunate enough to know Max well - it is my loss. But I am proud to have David, who doted on him in my family, as he courted and married my granddaughter Daniella. My sympathy is with the family at this difficult time. May we all be spared further sorrow.
Fondly, Oma (Lisa Baer)

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Max at my home during the Feast of Tabernacles several years ago. David, always having his grandfather’s best interest in mind, asked if he could bring his grandfather along to join in our holiday meal. At that time David was dating my daughter Daniella, who is now his wife. I was impressed by Max’s calm and kind manner. His hearing was a problem but David always made sure to engage him as much as possible. Max shared with us as much as he was able to and continued to smile throughout the meal. While we did not have many occasions after that to meet again, I will always remember him as a kind and sweet gentleman.

Uncle Max was the sweetest and kindest of my mom's five brothers. I remember with fondness our trips to Long Island to visit Max, Connie, and Ann when I was a boy. His gentle soul will be missed dearly. Thank you David for making it possible for Gloria and Max to "see" each other virtually before she passed last year. That meant so much to her and I'm sure to Max too.

Our profound condolences to Connie, her daughter Anne and son-in-law David, and all the family, on the passing of Max into his eternal reward. My mother, Dorothy (now deceased), and my father, Louis, shared many wonderful dinners and other occasions with Connie and Max, over many years. My whole family also enjoyed many occasions with Connie and Max. So much laughter and warm memories were made over those precious years of friendship. Max will be very fondly remembered. Our hearts go out especially to Connie during this deeply poignant time. May faith lighten the weight of sorrow, and bring the joy of hope in the eternal communion of all the saints in Christ. I am sure that my mother, who was Max's Godmother when he converted to Christ, is welcoming Max into that glorious communion. We are praying for the repose of Max's soul, and the consolation of Connie and all his loved ones.
Love and Warmest Regards from all the Camilleri Family.

Goodbye Dear Max. I was so happy to be your next door neighbor in Wantagh for 33 years. You had difficulty hearing and I had a gravelly voice but we managed to chat and share a laugh anyway.
You took such meticulous care of your beautiful home and I was so happy we shared a beautiful grove of 40 tall and straight American gum trees. And you shared some tasty tomatoes you grew with me. Thanks.
I remember that for a number of years we had a deal that after a bad snowstorm, I’d use that huge snowblower you had to do your house then mine. Years later when I couldn’t control that beast anymore, I bought a smaller blower and still did our driveways. Diane and I send our love to Connie and David and the rest of the family. We were glad to share meals and look in on you both when you needed assistance in later years until our house got to be too much and we moved to Florida a couple of years ago. I know the light of the Lord shines upon your face. Bob Meagher
