Don ( Mr.C) will always hold a special place in my heart. Having known me since I was barely 2 years old, Mr. C could always make us laugh. When the school bus didn't show, Mr. C pulled up beeping the horn excessively to give me a ride. Steven and I learned that Mr. C was very good at driving with no hands as he made up silly songs while driving with his knees. We often laughed so hard that it hurt, all the while Mr.C played it cool like this was all routine. He would often ask me to do odd jobs around the house when I was younger. Not too many people would trust an 11 year old to drill holes in their walls to run cable tv wires, but he had the utmost confidence that I could handle it. In fact, I think he truly believed that I could do anything. Our time spent on the chimney truck was memorable to say the least. I could write an SNL skit just about Don making his entrance into a customer's home. He was hysterical and once again, we laughed until in hurt. But that is what made him so successful, his ability to connect with people. Even the way he would open the front door, saying "Joey kid!!!!" , he just made you feel good.
There are probably 10,000 stories like this about Mr. C. To know him was to love him and he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Mr. C!

Don was an amazing man to all who were blessed enough to know him. I first met Don as I was interviewing prospects to be on the Better Business Bureau Advisory Board. Don (and Carolyn) were humbled and honored when he (and his company) were accepted. He brought light, humor and intelligence with him at every meeting. Don and I became (and always will be) very good friends and trusted confidants. In a strange and serendipitous fashion my son, Ryan, worked with him for a few years for TOB at the Marina. He would always come home and talk about this man "Don" and I was always telling him about "my Don" and one day we realized it was the same Don. That same young man, Ryan, was recently married. It was a relatively small wedding but at the top of the invite list was Don and Carolyn. While Don was unable to attend, he was smitten with being a part of a small and special group of invitees. We missed him at the wedding and will continue to miss him in our daily lives. He would always call me and ask about everyone at the BBB and especially Ryan and my family. Every time I would say "Don - but how are you??" He would always respond "Oh Kathleen, better than I deserve - people have it much worse than me". I would always say the same response - that he deserved only the good the world had to offer. He is the epitome of "salt of the earth" man.
I will miss my friend Don so very much and so, in closing, I will say what we always said as we were hanging up the phone - "I love you and May God Bless".

In Loving Memory of Donald Joseph Chiappetta
"The Don" and "Poppie"
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Donald Joseph Chiappetta. Don was truly one of the best—kind, funny, and always looking out for everyone around him. His warm spirit and genuine care for others made him unforgettable to all who were fortunate to know him.
Don faced his battle with cancer with remarkable bravery. He has now gone to the angels— exactly as he would have wanted—surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. His courage and grace in his final moments are a testament to the incredible man he was.
Don’s life was nothing short of inspirational. He learned to read at a later age, proving to the world that it’s never too late to grow, learn, and achieve. He continuously pushed himself to be the best version of himself—not just for his own sake but for everyone who looked up to him, including our son, Michael. His determination and perseverance were lessons to all of us, showing that anything is possible with hard work and heart.
To Carolyn and the rest of his family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find strength in each other and in the countless beautiful memories Don left behind.
Don, you will be truly missed by all. Rest in peace, knowing your love and legacy will continue to shine in the lives of everyone you touched.

My first encounter with Don came after several days of watching him and Carolyn doing the landscaping at Continental Towers in St Petersburg. One day I stopped, and perhaps out of guilt, asked Don if he could use some help. This was I believe in early 2014, and from that moment on we became friends. It was easy and a joy being friends with Don. Ask anybody at Continental Towers. To my recollection it was around 2017 when Don developed multiple myeloma. That didn’t stop Don from doing the landscaping at Continental Towers. At times I believe he even worked harder. Don’s attitude also never changed following his disease. If anything, he even became mellower. One would almost forget he was suffering from this disease because of the way he handled it. I’m going to miss Don, and I know all of Continental Towers will miss Don. Though gone, Don will definitely never be forgotten.

A great guy who always had a smile, especially when I brought him some homegrown ripe red tomatoes. Now at peace, remember the good times and smile!
