My condolences to the Snyder family.
Back in the 70's when I was President of the Springfield College Long Island Alumni Chapter, it was a pleasure having Don as a member of and a worker bee on our Steering Committee. Don had a positive outlook on whatever we were planning followed by "what can I do to help?"
Don and George McElroy were always ready to help with the events we hosted or sponsored and there were many.
In 1974, the Springfield College Alumni Council selected the Long Island Chapter as the Alumni Chapter of the Year. It was the first time the college had ever given this award!
All the best to your family, Judy Ingram SC '63.
PS: I retired in 1995 and moved back home to Maine.

I extend my deepest condolences to the Snyder family on the passing of your dad, granddad and great granddad. You were so blessed to have him in your lives for such a long time. I know Coach Snyder from my days at FHS and anyone who had Coach was mentored by the finest there was. He not only coached his student athletes but he took a real interest in their lives. I hope the precious memories that you have of him will bring you comfort and peace in the sad days ahead. I would like you to know that I reached out to Springfield College and informed the President of the College of the passing of Coach Snyder, a Springfield College Hall of Fame recipient, along with an article written in Newsday about him. They in turn, also forwarded the info to their Athletic Director.
RIP Coach Snyder

The Roosevelt community sends its Prayers and Condolences to the Snyder Family. He was truly loved and respected as a great leader of men who like many copied his approach in coaching at the high school level.

Please know your family is in my prayers. Don was always kind and caring to me and my family. He put his Christian faith in action every day. He was a role model to so many people and I hope they will all carry on his legacy of taking care of others and treating every person you encounter with respect and a belief that he/she deserves God’s grace. So glad we were able to have Coach Snyder attend the 50th Reunion of our 1971 Undefeated Championship Team. It was an honor to play for him and be part of the Dalers winning tradition.

Unfortunately I am in Michigan next week and I will not be able to pay my respects to a great man. I believe I am speaking for many of the thousands of athletes you coached over your hall of fame career when I say thank you for teaching sportsmanship, loyalty, dedication, comradeship, preparedness and winning comes with hard work. RIP Coach.
