Obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Virginia M. Stanley on July 15, 2024 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold J. Stanley. Loving mother of Thomas Stanley and his wife Rory, Timothy Stanley and his wife Martha, Margaret Stanley, Virginia C. Stanley and her wife Patricia Morris. Cherished grandmother of Patrick Stanley and his wife Lindsay, Ryan Stanley and his partner Ashley, Meghan Green and her husband Cedric, Alison Tett and her husband Brandon, and Maggie Stanley and her partner Caris. Adored great grandmother of Owen Stanley, Eliza Stanley, Shea Stanley, and Lyla Tett. Virginia worked for the East Islip School District for 33 years. She was a Paraprofessional, working in the Library and in the Speech and Resource Rooms at Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School. She loved her co-workers and valued the time she spent working with them to help the students. After her retirement she spent many years volunteering at St. Mary’s Outreach/Parish Social Ministry. She was an avid reader and loved traveling. She was beloved by her family and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 between the hours of 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Albrecht, Bruno & O'Shea Funeral Homes, Inc.; 62 Carleton Avenue; East Islip, New York. (2 miles south of exit 43-A Southern State Parkway.) Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at St. Mary's R.C. Church; 118 West Main Street; East Islip, New York. Interment Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
