God speed, my brother. As I told you in recent conversation, your courage was not only exemplary, it was inspiring. I can only hope that when my time comes, I can face it half as well as you did, Lieutenant. God bless you and your family, which you never hesitated to give thanks for.

Gary and I met a year and 8 months ago at my first MSK Support Group. It is because of him that I returned to the group. While many were negative and complaining, Gary shared the same hopeful attitude that I carry with me everyday. He was truly inspirational. His presence and humor held our Support Group together. He will be missed but always remain in our hearts. May his memories give you peace and strength.
With love,
Jennifer Greenblatt

Condolences to friends and family. I admired many things about Gary but what stood out the most was his sense of humor. He thought me to find laughter in everything. When you think about it life is very funny.
Gary will be greatly missed

Permit me to extend my condolences to the Gorman Family, and Gary’s extended family: the entire NYPD. Gary gave so much to all our brothers and was always in service to the Thin Blue Line. We never met but did communicate on behalf of our 10-13 group and his dedication to the cause was incomparable. R.I.P. my brother and your memory will live on long after our time on this earth. God Bless.

Gary was around for most of my childhood. This week reminds me that no matter how gloomy we were, he always gifted us with endless adventures and laughs. He truly was our own personal Clark Griswold. I’m grateful for that, and how he gifted that to his many grandchildren. Sending all my love and prayers. - Sharyn

May he Rest in Peace in the Kingdom of God.
I know that he had gone through some serious health issues last year.
We got to speak on the phone and he was in good spirits as he went through the medical procedures. Really sad for his family. Another Good man has left us. God Bless you Gary Gorman.

Gary supported the POLICENY NYPD nostalgia web site and contributed some photos of himself working on the job. You can see them at http://www.policeny.com/esdmof3.html . Unfortunately you could not see his face in any of them. Nonetheless thank you for the assist, Gary. I did not see you often Gary, most of the time at the REMA Day of Remembrance and unfortunately not lately but the times we did meet they were always good. Rest in peace, friend.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Gary worked with my dad, Bill, in the NYPD’s Tactical Patrol Force in the 1970s. I’m sure I met Gary as a kid at command Christmas parties, but we really reconnected when my dad died in 2012. Gary was such a gentleman and a good soul. He was a humble man, a US Army officer, and a cop’s cop.
May the choir of angels come to greet you Gary.
