To my friend Dennis,
We first met 13 years ago in a trailer for Nassau County auxiliary police and from that moment we hit it off and became friends. You were always there for me when I needed advice or help with something.
From the times we were working together or just hanging out at your house you always found a way to make me laugh and have a good time. When you weren’t making me laugh or talking about Sacha, you were telling me about how proud you were of Laura and Maryann.
You were more than just a friend but also as a father figure to me. Dennis, I love you and I’ll miss you.

For my friend Dennis
Rest easy my brother
Rest easy
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I met Dennis through my brother Steve when we were teenagers. He quickly became part of our family. It was so much fun watching them play football in high school. They were a force to be reckoned with. We had some heated discussions because Dennis was a die hard Yankees fan and we die hard Mets fans. Then one day Steve introduced handsome Dennis to beautiful Mary Ann and the rest is history. I am so sad and heartbroken for Mary Ann and Laura. Rest in Peace Dennis.
Love, Donna Marie Patti

To My Dearest Friend and Brother from a different Mother.
Our friendship started over 35 years ago. The memories, the laughs and sharing many family times together will remain in my heart and I will cherish them forever.
So many people could never understand our humor and antics....which was something I never had with anyone else.....something I will miss deeply.
You were always giving me advice and looking out for me as your younger brother. Words can not express what that meant to me. As I always looked up to you as my older brother, I will continue to look up to you in Heaven.
Even though we are not going to be able to spend time together now, I know someday we will be together in Heaven sharing good times once again.
You will always be my Wilson. Love you my brother

In this time of sadness my thoughts and prayers are with my sister in law and my niece. Dennis’s life was full, full because of his wife and daughter. I had the pleasure and honer of being his friend first, then part of his family. We worked together for 21 years, and while we worked really hard we laughed even harder. His generosity to me and my family knew no bounds. While we all will miss him terribly, we should only remember how he lived. He loved his family , his friends, and of course The NY Yankees. I love you brother… Thanks

In loving tribute to my dear friend Dennis Venezia.
Dennis is truly a remarkable man, husband, father, and friend!
I will always admire and remember him for his amazing love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
His love for Mary Ann and Laura knew no bounds. His role in life was to serve and protect them. To do his very best to provide and care for them.
His marriage to Mary Ann was his foundation in life. Everything was based upon that. He would share with me the fun they would have together running errands or on the many day trips Mary Ann would plan.
Dennis was especially proud of the amazing person Laura has grown to be. He would show great pride and joy when he would talk about Laura’s many accomplishments in life.
As my friend, Dennis was there for me 7x24 with no exceptions. Anything my family or I needed, he was there to help.
As Dennis battled cancer, he showed me another side of himself – a warrior. He showed me how a true warrior takes on life’s tough challenges. How a warrior keeps getting up and fighting.
I look forward to continuing to share my life with Dennis every day.
God Bless you Dennis.
