Obituary

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Commissioner and Ex Chief Kenneth J. Rochon on February 17, 2024, at the age of 72. Commissioner Rochon has served the Levittown community for over 54 years as a member of the department, rising through the ranks all the way to Chief of Department and eventually becoming a Commissioner. He served his community in many ways outside the department as well, in his career as a Nassau County Correctional Officer, and a member of the Island Trees Board Of Education. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and will live on in our hearts forever. Beloved husband of Barbara. Devoted father of Dennis (Jaclyn), Matthew, Kristin Bradley (Christopher), and April. Loving grandfather of Caleb, Duncan, and Kane. Cherished son of the late Raymond and Margaret and son-in-law of Mary and the late Ronald Russo. Adored brother-in-law of Patricia (Robert). Treasured by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm and 9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Avenue (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 9:30 am, at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church in Levittown, NY. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. www.osheafuneral.com
