Obituary
Charles A. Ripoll, Sr. passed away suddenly on November 18, 2023, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Patricia. Devoted father of Charles A. Ripoll, Jr. Loving “Poppy” to his grandkids Christopher, Francesca, and Giada. Loving father-in-law of Candice. Adored brother of Helen, John, and predeceased siblings Bernie, Junior, Jimmy, and Kay. Cherished brother-in-law of Eileen (Dan), Barbara (Joe), Kevin (Theresa) and Martin.
A devoted father, husband and loyal friend, Charlie was a true original. Underneath his gruff exterior, people will be surprised to know of his love for Broadway and fine dining. Charlie worked for the airlines — a job that helped fuel his wanderlust. He and Pat were world-travelers, exploring all parts of the globe. He was a proud US Air Force veteran and a die-hard Yankees, Giants and Rangers fan. The beach was where he found his solace.
Charlie struggled with his health for decades. His son generously donated part of his liver. It was a major operation that taxed both donor and recipient. But that act of love helped Charlie live for another 20+ years and see his grandchildren grow and thrive. It’s a gift that he cherished and appreciated. His health may have been compromised, but Charlie never complained. Only Pat knew his struggles. But the moments he felt well, he lived them fully.
Cherished by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday, 4 pm - 8 pm, at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes, 2515 N. Jerusalem Rd.
(Exit 25N SS PKWY) East Meadow, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11 am, at St. Bernard's R.C. Church in Levittown, NY. Cremation Private. www.osheafuneral.com
