The sudden passing of Dr. Gallagher has left a void with in the small community that is death care. His reach was so vast. As you read his obituary he was a man that was highly educated and intelligent, well respected with all these grand achievements. You would think reading it that he was above the average person. In reality he was very loved by everyone that was lucky enough to be in his orbit. His chosen profession highly specialized and critical in not only education and law enforcement but as a Medical Examiner being able to help bring closure and some measure of comfort to grieving families by being able to answer that question what happened to my loved one and did they suffer? I had the privilege to meet him 10 years ago when I reached out to help a family answer that very question. (As a Private Pathologist) Being a funeral director for over 25 years I have had the occasion to work with many pathologists. Dr. Gallagher was a breath of fresh air! He took the time to just talk to me! I shared with him that as a little girl my dream was to be a Medical Examiner! Unfortunately I did not have the smarts, so a funeral director/Embalmer was the next best thing! After that any time I had a case for him
He would walk me through what he suspected, how to find it etc.. I learned so much and I was able to “touch my dream” for that brief time. He gave that to me. He made that happen for me and I will never forget him for that. He was an amazing human being. We kept in touch over the years sharing photos of our fur babies or swapping crazy death situations that we came across. I found out about is passing after several
Attempts to contact him by phone . I would text and he would answer no more than a few hours later . It seemed like he never slept! After 3 days I knew something was wrong I even mentioned it to my co-workers . I received a call from his wife Mrs. Gallagher to tell me the tragic news. I am truly sorry for the loss of your husband. And for his beloved Mei-Mei. Hold on to those wonderful memories made and take pride in all the good he did in this world from helping solve the biggest death cases on tv, easing the suffering of a grieving family or to fulfill some random funeral director’s dream of being a medical examiner.

Sending my deepest condolences to the Gallagher family. Sadly, I just found out my mentor, colleague and friend has passed. Dr. Timothy Gallagher not only impacted me but had greatly contributed to the forensic community. He chose to share his knowledge with inquiring minds, going above and beyond in educating all around. He played a crucial member as a chair on my thesis committee. He spent time visiting many of my own students teaching them about the role of the Medical Examiner. He was a constant supporter in all of my endeavors. I will miss his jokes... he had an incredible sense of humor. I will miss his stories and pictures of little Mei Mei and her doggie camp escapades. I will miss learning from this incredibly knowledgable person who always found a moment to enlighten you. Rest in peace my dear friend, you are greatly missed.

Dr. Gallagher was one of our Fellows at the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department. As the Program Coordinator, I assist with onboarding our Fellows. Dr. Gallagher was the only male in the class of 2009-2010. His co-fellows were Drs. Erin Barnhart, Allison Hunt, and Dawn Lajoie. Though he was the only male, this wasn’t the only reason he stood out - it was his personality!
Dr. Gallagher was a wonderful, joyful person. He continued to communicate with me and other members of our M.E. family long after his Fellowship. Though he wasn’t one of our youngest Fellows, he was a ball of energy and laughter. Just speaking to him, no matter how short your conversation was, would always brighten your day. He was just the nicest, nicest guy! Our entire department is saddened to know that he is no longer with us. We will always remember his laugh. May he rest in eternal peace.

Dr. Gallagher touched so many lives and made each and every single one feel special! He always made you feel as if he had all the time in the world, just for you. It takes a very special kind of person to achieve that level of compassion. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that he will be missed beyond measure. I worked with Dr. Gallagher at the District One Medical Examiner's office and we also worked together on his Kart racing swag. We shared black and grizzly bear stories regularly. Forevermore, when I see bears I will remember with fondness his kind soul.

I had the opportunity to work briefly with Dr. Gallagher at the Disrict 1 ME office. While I didn't know him very well, he was always pleasant and available to answer any questions I had. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

I'm Ron and work for the District Twelve Medical Examiner's Office in Sarasota, FL. When Dr. Gallagher came to work for us, INSTANTLY, I knew we were going to get along great. His sense of humor was amazing, because it fit along with mine just great. He was quick witted. I thoroughly enjoyed working alongside this man and could not wait to see him again because he lite up a room wherever he went. My family, especially my mother, has been battling a medical problem and Dr. Gallagher did not even know her, but he got on the phone with her about 4 weeks ago. The kindness and laughter he brought to her that day was priceless because she told me how that interaction brightened her whole day. My mom wanted me to give her condolences to his family and wanted to say how a pleasure it was that he came into her life at such a dark time and let his light shine right through it. Dr. Gallagher will be missed tremendously. Thank you Dr. "G" for everything....!!!!
