It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colin Aloysius Miller, of Kingston, Jamaica WI, Roosevelt, New York, and Ocala, Florida. Nearly one month before his 58th birthday, Colin sorrowfully passed away on October 19, 2023, in Roosevelt, NY. after a tumultuous battle with Lupus and ultimately a hemorrhagic stroke. Colin was born in Kingston, Jamaica WI, to George Aloysius Miller and Margaret Diana Miller. Colin migrated from Jamaica to New York where he attended Roosevelt High School. As a student at RHS, Colin was an avid wrestler and helped build the soccer program alongside his brothers and dearest friends. This was a place where he fostered many lifelong friendships, and where he met his high school sweetheart, Damaris. Through their love for one another, they married and had three children: Emmanuel, Anika, and Malaika. Mr. Miller went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, which took him to several states and countries around the world including Japan, Korea, and Germany. After 13 years of service, Sergeant Miller was honorably discharged and retired from his command as a communications specialist in the Infantry Division of the U.S. Army due to medical complications of Lupus. After a more than 30-year battle with Lupus and resulting complications and comorbidities. Colin departed this life on Thursday, October 19, 2023, and is resting until the Lord returns. His father, George Aloysius Miller, predeceased Colin. He is survived by his mother, Margaret; his love and friend Damaris, his three children; son-in-law Anthony, daughter-in-law Celeste; and three grandchildren – grandsons Idris and Naiem and granddaughter-to-be who will share his initials C.A.M. He will be missed by his six siblings Marie, Richard, Christopher, Shervon, Susan, and Andrea, his nieces and nephews, his loving family members, and dear friends. We were all blessed to be in the presence of this compassionate, loyal, and strong man.

Colin’s legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren. His family would love to celebrate his life with an abundance of LOVE and GRACE as he rests in peace.
