Obituary

Maureen F. Wagner, born April 3rd of 1949. Maureen was predeceased by her parents Francis and Mary Wagner, and her sister-in-law Lynette Wagner. She departed this earthly life on Monday January 30th, 2023 at the age of 73. She was the oldest sister of Theresa (Larry) Saia, Patricia Wagner, Irene Wagner, Richard (Lorraine) Wagner, and Timothy Wagner. Maureen was the beloved mother to her three children, Jason (Jianna) Heuer, Stacey (David) Hale, and Rebecca (David) Gaitan. The joy of her life were her grandchildren, Justin, Brianna, and Oliver. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Zack, Allison, Katie, Richard, and Natalie; as well as great nieces and nephews. Maureen was born in the Bronx, NY where she lived until she was 9y.o., when the Wagner family moved to Valley Stream. Maureen then lived and raised her 3 children in Rhinebeck, NY for a large part of her life. Maureen took the opportunity to go back to college at the age of 50y.o., where she graduated from Syracuse University Law school in 2003. After that she moved to Brooklyn and devoted her law career to the Administration of Children Services (ACS) in New York City. After retirement, she moved to Ballston Spa, NY to spend more time with her grandchildren. Maureen wished to have a celebration of life rather than a funeral to honor her life. We will be holding a gathering on Saturday February 4th, 2023 at noon at the Domenico’s 3270-A Hempstead Tpke, Levittown, NY 11756, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, an organization Maureen felt strongly about.
