Obituary

DRISCOLL – Timothy J., 79, died peacefully and gently – like he lived – on December 12, 2022. Tim’s greatest joy was his family. He and his beloved wife Janice were together for 60 years, including over 56 years of marriage. He was an amazing father to Timmy and his wife Amy, and a proud grandpapa of Maddie and Timmy. He was a devoted brother to Pat and Sheila, and brother-in-law to Stas. He delighted in his many nieces and nephews, and their children. While Tim celebrated life at all times, he had a deep and abiding faith that our lives are not just limited to our time on earth. He is welcomed into heaven by his children John, Laurie Anne, and Christopher, and is also reunited with his parents Tim and Elizabeth Driscoll. Tim was a gifted engineer, and retired in 1998 after many years as the Research and Development Director for Long Island Lighting Company and its successors. But Tim never fully “retired.” He taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at SUNY/Stony Brook for over 45 years, and was a trained yoga instructor for the past 24 years. He will live forever in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, students, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Tim’s family will celebrate his life Sunday December 18, 2022, 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm – 8:30 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 2515 N. Jerusalem Rd. (Exit 25N SS PKWY) East Meadow, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10:45 am, at St. Raphael R.C. Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Lawrence, NY. www.osheafuneral.com
