Obituary

John R. Jones passed away on November 29, 2022, predeceased by his beloved bride Sally D. Jones of 55 years and daughter Diane Petrouskie. He is survived by his children Mary Pat Baumel; Thomas Jones (Diane); JoAnn Jones; Sally Schrader (Steve); and Carolann Saggese (Steve); grandchildren, Becky Baumel; Jake Brewster (Kay); Casey Jones (Brittney); Sara Lee Jones; Brian Thompson (Bryanne); Breann Thompson (Jessie Pauley); Matthew Petrouskie; Daniel Petrouskie; Logan Doyle (Danielle Duke); Carlin Doyle (Brooke); Anthony Saggese; Julianna Saggese and great grandchildren: Elaina; Jackson; Colden; Skylar; Orion, Lochlan and many nieces and nephews. John was also predeceased by his parents Austin and Sarah; brothers Austin, Thomas, and James. John grew up in Brooklyn, New York and lived with his wife and children in Levittown, New York for over 60 years. He served in the Korean War as an Air Force staff sergeant assigned to the 3454th Technical Training Squadron, Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. John led the training of the Coleman towing tractor. After his discharge from the service, John was a co-owner of Aamco Transmission and Maaco Auto Repair franchises in Long Island. John is known for his hearty laugh and making friends wherever he went. He always wanted everyone to “have fun and don’t get in any trouble.” As an alternative to flowers, donations can be made to Servants of the Lord & the Virgin Mary of Matara at https://ssvmusa.org/.
