My condolences to Johnny, Linda, Christina, Gina, the cats, and the rest of the extended family. I wish I could be there on LI with you today, but I’m with you in my heart. I met Barbara in 1982 in Long Beach, and have loved her ever since. If ever there were 2 people more different and less likely to become good friends, it was me and Barbara. But the things we shared were more important than the different lives we led. There are so many Barbara stories that have been replaying in my mind these last few days, but this one might be my favorite. When I first met Barbara, I used to invite her to join me and other friends down on the beach, and she would usually say she was busy cooking meatballs, or some other excuse for why she had to stay home. But the years passed and Barbara went through so many changes. And I don’t remember the year, but it was still at the house in the Canals, and the day came when Barbara decided to get rid of EVERYTHING in her kitchen: every pot and pan, every dish, everything. I couldn’t believe her so I went and had to look in her cabinets. It was all gone! She said she was going to order in food from then on. Only Barbara Bono!! Seriously, there was no one else like her. I will miss her so much.

We send our deepest condolences to Barbara's family. She was a great neighbor and a very sweet person who had a huge heart for animals. Many cats (especially Lilly and her sister Daisy) will miss Barbara's gentle and loving demeanor. Barbara made their lives so much better and that type of kindness will not be forgotten. Rest in peace Barbara. You will be missed. Love Greg and Aoife
