Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Valerie Maccone, announces the passing of our dearest wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Valerie is a long time resident of N. Bellmore, passing away peacefully on Friday August 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her adoring family. She was 73. Valerie grew up in Astoria, the daughter of Vincent and Mildred Papa and youngest sibling to Victor and Vincent Papa Jr. She married Edward Maccone on September 9, 1972 and raised their 2 daughters. She is loving and devoted to her family sharing kindness, grace and love. Valerie embodied the spirit of motherhood with her incredible heart and strength. She was gentle and wise. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her brother Vincent, husband Edward Maccone, 2 daughters Denise Maccone and Victoria Loachino, and grandson Victor. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center to fight children's cancers. Family will receive friends Friday, 1 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm – 9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Avenue (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11 am, at St. Raphael R.C. Church in East Meadow, NY. Entombment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
