Dear Anthony and Lisa, my deepest condolences to you and your families on the loss of your father, a good and decent man and dedicated public servant. I remember with fondness and gratitude the kindness and generosity your warm and caring parents showed me. Your Mom and Dad always welcomed me in your home, and I’ll forever be thankful to them—to you all—for your encouragement, support, and hospitality. I never felt like a stranger at 152, because of the wonderful way your parents treated me. May you all find comfort and strength in your happy memories of them, and the memories of so many of us who were lucky to be their neighbors and friends. May your Dad rest in peace.
