Obituary

Thomas Seibert—beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend—passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his home in Wantagh. He was 46. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of seven years, Bridget Hanlon Seibert; two daughters, Scotlyn (4) and Maeve (2); his mother, Jane Seibert; sister Eileen Seibert Roach (Carl); and his nephew, Danny Roach (12). He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Seibert. A lifelong New Yorker, Tom was born June 25, 1975, in Elmhurst, Queens. He was a hardworking union electrician with Local Union No. 3 IBEW who was passionate about his craft. He loved to share stories and photos from his work on Manhattan’s landmark skyscrapers, including his involvement in the construction of One World Trade Center. Tom’s greatest passion in life was his family. The epitome of a family man, he was a loyal, devoted, and ever-present husband and father. He loved to make his daughters giggle, and their laughs were often echoed by his own, which was infectious and familiar to anyone who knew him. He was a generous and selfless son, brother, uncle, friend, and colleague—always there with a smile and a cup of coffee—making you feel like an old friend, whether you’d known him for 20 years or 20 minutes. Two visitations will be held Friday, Jan. 28—one from 2–4 p.m. and another from 6–9 p.m.—at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh. The funeral mass will be Saturday, Jan. 29, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 855 Carmans Road in Massapequa Park. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been established to provide for his young daughters: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-toms-girls
