It is a small world and you never know who you will meet along the way. My Uncle married a lot of couples during his time in various parishes. My wife and I had the pleasure of teaching and meeting them in Pre-Cana that we taught during his time in St. Aidans. The best example of a small world was when my boss in Waldbaums asked Dennis Whelan is your uncle he married us in Port Washington and baptized my pool table. His fee was most likely a box of cigars. RIP DJ.

To the family of Rev. Dennis Whelan: Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with you on the loss of Father Whelan, a special priest and wonderful man, inside and out, who married us at St. Barnabas R.C. Church in North Bellmore. We proudly hang in our living room our wedding scroll done in calligraphy with him, our best man and maid of honor signing as witnesses to our marriage to each other.
