Laura McDermott was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Aunt Laura which is what I call her would always welcome us in her home. She and uncle John would let me swim in there pool for hours. I remember my mom would always say “Kenny get out of that pool and aunt Laura would tell her leave him alone, he can swim for as long as he wants”. McDermotts also gave me my first summer job helping out at the deli during the street fairs. I’m sorry I never had the chance to say thank you for all the love you showed me, you will truly be missed. S.I.P

To John and Mike, know that Laura was my Best and dearest friend of over 40 years. Laura has always welcomed me and my children into your family with memories of laughter (remember the claw and sorrow of the passing of my prescious daughter. If it wasn't for her stern love and understanding I don't know that I would of made it. John and Mike, know that she is no longer suffering or in pain and she is in a better place filled with love. I will always love you my sister and friend. Rest in Peacce. Until we meet again.

Laura bravely fought this horrific foe for a long time. She knew her husband, John, and her son, Michael needed her. Now it's time for her to rest. Arnie and I (as well as our sons) fondly remember the Thanksgiving dinners that Laura, her mom and dad, and then John, hosted at their home for our families! I always told Laura she made the best stuffing! Arnie knew Laura since she was a little girl as she was his friend, Lou's, little sister. Now, Lou and Arnie are brothers-in-law when Lou married my sister, Barbara! When Arnie and I got married, the Maurer family made us part of their family for which we will be forever grateful! Laura will always be in our hearts. RIP beautiful girl.
