Victoria Malfitone Borruso was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Oct. 7, 1935, and lived her life to the fullest for 85 years until March 30, 2021. She waited until all of her children were present in her room and all her grandchildren had a virtual moment to express their love and let her know they were all there for her before she passed.Victoria was pre-deceased by her beloved husband William Borruso (d. 2015). She leaves behind her four children: her oldest son Robert and daughter-in-law Maribel of Wallingford, Connecticut; her daughter Karen and son-in-law Michael of East Meadow, N.Y.; her son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Kathy of Randolph, N.J.; and her youngest son Billy and daughter-in-law Michelle of Bethpage, N.Y. Together over the years her beautiful family grew to include 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. They are Shayla, Victoria, Rob, Dana, Alyssa, Mikey, Jillian, Gabrielle, Sydney, Ashley, Billy, step-grandchildren Mia and Dominick — as well as little Zander and Lebella and their loving father Brad. Victoria is also survived by her younger sister Josephine Malfitone Siano and brother-in-law Dominick Siano of Brooklyn, and her cousins, nephews and nieces. Victoria married “the boy next door” — literally her neighbor William (Willie) on May 17, 1958. They had 57 glorious years together. She raised her family in Valley Stream, N.Y., and had a beautiful second home in Jupiter, Florida for several years and later lived in Wantagh and Levittown N.Y.

After having four children, she found a way to give back to others in her community and became the President of a Cerebral Palsy Chapter in Long Island, N.Y., where she selflessly worked to improve the lives of those who needed her. Victoria’s greatest joys were hosting her family and life-long friends for wonderful Italian meals, 4th of July block parties, Halloween costume parties, and backyard Bar-B-Qs. Her family’s most cherished memories are of Christmas Eve where she and Bill dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus — and later passed that tradition down to their children who would "be Santa" for all the grandchildren to share in her memorable holiday celebration. Her favorite pastimes were cooking amazing Italian dishes, betting the horses, playing mahjong, singing along with Sinatra, keeping in frequent contact with her grandchildren, watching the latest movies, reading novels, and sunbathing at the beach. She often shared her favorite quotes of wisdom that have made an impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Best foot forward, Victoria. Say hi to Poppy.

There will be a viewing at O'Shea Funeral home Wantagh, N.Y., on Thursday, April 1, from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A brief prayer service will be held on Friday morning, April 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, N.Y. Victoria’s favorite saint who she spoke of and prayed to often was St Jude. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
