Obituary
Gregory F. Kenney, a resident of Levittown, N.Y. since 1964, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2021 at the age of 94. Greg was predeceased by his wife, Irene, who passed away in 2015 shortly after their 65th wedding anniversary. Greg is survived by his children, Patricia O’Reilly (late John), Karen LoCasto (Michael), Maureen Kenney and Mary Ellen Kenney; his grandchildren, Kevin, William (Lyndsay) and Knox O’Reilly, and Amy LoCasto; his brother, Leo Kenney (Roseann); and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind Nancy O’Leary, who was like a daughter to him. Greg grew up in Astoria, Queens and attended Bryant H.S. Greg and Irene lived in Astoria with their four daughters until they moved to Levittown in 1964. Greg was a member of IBEW Local #3 for 69 years, having retired in 1986. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Hartigan Council in Bethpage. Greg was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. Being an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, he was honored by the Yankees as Veteran of the Game in July 2019. The Combat Wounded Veterans of America was instrumental in helping to make that happen.
