Obituary of Elizabeth Smolski

SMOLSKI-Elizabeth died at home with her family on the 5th day of February, 4 days after she sustained a CVA. She was an extraordinary woman, always giving and kind. She married beloved Thomas Smolski, and together they had four lovely daughters and one beloved son. Throughout her life, she always believed family came first and she devoted her entire adult life to her children and later, grand-children. In her mid-life, she purchased a restaurant/tavern with her brother, Robert, and together she worked tirelessly to sustain a very successful and friendly neighborhood bar for over 15 years. She also was employed as A Bus Driver for Suffolk County Transportation for about 20 years until she retired at age 72. She was known and loved by all for her genuineness, honesty and emotional support. The matriarch of a large and extended family, she is survived by her brother Robert Coppock and daughters Patricia Wackernah, Elizabeth Curran and Donna Whalen and grand-children Kevin, Jennifer, Patrick, Lauren, Brian, Michael, Sara, Billy, Christopher and Kaitlyn. She was also a Great Grand-Mother to Jessica, Emma and Jake. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, her brother Kevin and her 2 children Karen and Brian Smolski.
