I'm seeing this for the first time and quite sad as Joe was a close friend of my Father-Bruno Ponzi for many years. Although the families have loss touch I will always remember those cherished times. Emma Ponzi Domino, East Setauket, NY

Uncle Joe ... he filled the room with warmth and love. Such a dear dear man. What a team, Aunt Millie & Uncle Joe. Whenever you were with them you were just folded into their arms and filled with family love and Italian cookies. Together they are the example of what everyone would strive for in a marriage. This is a love that will never end. God bless Uncle Joe, and give him everlasting Peace. Sending my love to Joe & Lorraine, Susie & Michael, Steven and all of the family. He was the rock of the family and I know how much you loved him. And moreover everyone could see how much he loved each of you, when he looked at you with that twinkle in his eye. When you look at pictures of him, you will see that. I wish I could be there to give you a hug. It was very special to be able to sit in the "back row" of the church for the lovely funeral service, with my mom (June) who was singing along with the hymns. Sending much Winkler love to you all. - Julie

My memories of Joe are all the same — of a loving, kind, and generous man. I feel lucky to have had him in my life. I share your loss.

Joe was part of our family. A true gentleman, always ready to help anyone. We met at the FAA in 1961. My wife who I met at the FAA bowled with Joe. Thereafter we were part of each other’s lives. After we married in 1963, Joe the greatest trip ever to Puerto Rico with a large group. It included dinner , and Joe’s saying was “ You can have anything you want on the menu “ We shared many of our life’s joys with Joe and Millie. Weddings, babtisms, anniversaries, and families. He was Uncle Joe to our four children and grandchildren. He was our son Michael’s godfather. He was always ready to share with us his family, both here and in Italy. Likewise our families in Sicily loved him as well. Joe will always be remembered as part of our lives. HE WAS FAMILY.
He is now with God , the nice guy serving our Lord and always looking over his beautiful wife, family and friends.
God bless him always. Love The Monticciolo Family

My father was an only child, so his cousin Joe (on the right) was a big brother to him. He was a great role model for my Dad, and for his own son and family, and for anyone else who chose to follow the example of kindness and warmth he always displayed. He randomly showed up at my college my freshman year and took me out to dinner. Apparently he knew that kids away from home for the first time need the comfort and security that only family can provide. And for Uncle Joe, that was always worth driving a couple hours out of your way to do. God speed and thank you for so many beautiful memories.

Uncle Joe was a very caring and well respected individual who lived his entire life in a very positive manner. We have many happy and loving memories of visiting Uncle Joe and Aunt Millie every year on Christmas Eve at their home in Bellmore, New York.
Uncle Joe was always a pleasure to talk with and having in common that we both worked our entire work life in the FAA we would always share stories of the many work issues he and I faced in our careers.
We are sad to see Uncle Joe leave us just before the Christmas Holiday but we are very confident and strong in faith and truly believe our Lord has reached out for Uncle Joe, for now it is his turn to serve the Lord free from any and all suffering.
Our prayers will continue to go out to Uncle Joe as he makes his journey into heaven.
With all our love and fond memories of Uncle Joe, from Charlie, Diane and the entire Hannon Family.
