What a shock it was to learn of Tom's passing. Tom was such a joy to have as a friend and, to our St. Raphael community, as a leader, teacher, an exemplar of all that we believe. He was a foundational volunteer to the Religious Education program, starting in the first years of Fr. Dan Hurley's pastor-ship and continuing to teach and volunteer in other ways, essentially to the end of his wonderful life. I, Arlene, during my years as director of Religious Education, could call on Tom to teach classes year after year and pitch in to help with sacramental events. His response was always, “Yes!” Cheerfully, “Yes.” And for the two of us personally, he was a great friend, full of joy. We have no doubt that he heard God's words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” To Arleen and the kids, we pray that you will find some solace in those words.
