As the Homebound Librarian for the East Meadow Public Library, I treasured the time I was able to spend with Kay during my delivery of her library materials. We spoke at length about our shared Catholic faith. I would like to express my condolences to her family. I share in your grief. I will always remember Kay in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy to the Bensen family. I have many fond memories of Mrs. Bensen growing up in East Meadow. I always remember going to her house and she was grading her students papers. I thought that was so cool back than. She was a very sweet and caring women to us. Thinking of all of you during this time. Sending hugs and prayers to all of you.

Our Mother, Katherine Bensen, Grandmother to our children, Great Grandmother to our children's children made her final journey home to her Creator at 12:45am, Sunday morning June 14. She made this final journey with grace and faith. Her life was filled service and care for others. She was our rock and an inspiration to each of us. Travel well Mom, God awaits your arrival.

Had the pleasure of meeting Kay through the St. Raphael book club. Her intelligence & knowledge of world events inspired me. I always enjoyed listening to her perspective on a particular book along with the additional information she had related to the subject. I often left the meeting saying I wanted to be as smart as her some day! Recently I got to see her at Mass on Sundays and she always gave me a cheerful hello. She was a wonderful lady and will be truly missed at St. Raphael.R.I.P.
