Joe was a very funny guy and most times without even trying. One time Dennis,me, Tina and Joe went to a candle factory in Pennsylvania and as we were leaving Joe stopped to buy something, as we walked to the car Joe turns to us and says "these are the worst chips I ever had" when we looked at the bag they were Hickory Chips! We laughed so hard I was crying. We used them in the fireplace that night. Love you Joe for all the laughs. You will be missed.

Joey T - class act and great friend - my condolences . Great memories with Joe hanging out playing all kinds of schoolyard games. Joe waking up on my QV apt. couch after a night out.
Joe and Tina always entertained friends and great family. Joe was the best third baseman magic hands and a true Yankee fan - he will be watching this year from heaven.
I remember Joe working the towers at Belmont yelling down to me walking to the track. What a pleasure knowing Joe - God bless - Thoughts and prayers with Tina and family.

I was "il butch" who delivered meat to his mom and grandma at his house in the mid seventies. Later on Joe "rented" my dog Chino while he was a pump jockey by Jamaica &211th. Tied him up by the cash register. After every shift my dog was paid with a huge bowl of pasta at his house. Joe was very caring and would always have your back as he had mine one night outside of Art's Bar. Excellent athlete and friend. The world could use more like him. R.I.P. Joe.

Where can I begin to talk about all the wonderful memories I have of Joe. He had that sinister laugh when he was up to something but was never mean and always kind.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to sit in the middle of all us girls to get in on our conversation. I think he just liked to sit with all the girls!
To watch him play softball in the schoolyard was a true pleasure. I never saw anyone run the bases so fast!
I'm so glad I was able to spend time with Joe the last few years at the wonderful 109 BBQ Tina would host. They were such a beautiful and loving couple to the end.
May you be at peace, my friend and hope you know how much you were loved!

Joe was a great sole. I worked in the same business with Joe. He gave me opportunities over the years.i worked with a lot of the boys he grew up with Kevin Smith, Jack Coulter, Keith Hewitt. & others.
I’m from Astoria Queens I use to come to Queens Village back in the day to watch the guys play softball.
My girl use to come with me now my wife Janice. We hung out in the bars in QV always had a blast.
I was an avid softball player myself in the eighties those were great times.
We use to pull all nighters working for Joe at Mitel. I got my friend Sal Acquista into the business Joe & Sal became fast friends.
All the good times we had.
Joe will certainly be missed. Joe RIP you were top notch

So many memories... we would walk to grammar school every day. I would go to Joe and his mom would have food ready.
We walked to school and then flip baseball cards , we usually made it to school on time.
He was always decisive on right and wrong and he always stepped in to do the right thing.

I remember one Christmas eve when my dad took my mom to the ER. I was left with watching the girls. A couple of guys came over,Joe included, to help decorate the tree. While we were decorating Joe sat Kathy,Ruth and Mary down on the floor in a circle and proceded to tell them the craziest made up Christmas stories he could come up with. He had my sisters laughing and took their mind off my mom being in the ER. That was the kind of guy he was. A loyal friend.

When Joe was a baby it would take our mom forever to get him to take a nap. When mom wasn't looking I would go and wake him up.

1990. Joe is pitching against 'What the Heck' at P.S. 18. They were a very tough team to beat so Joey kept switching the new ball with ones that were duds. WTH complained to the ump, so the ump threw Joe a brand new ball to pitch with. Joe immediately threw it on the roof and pulled a dud from under his arm. The ump totally missed it ! The whole other sideline was screaming and yelling about what Joe just did. So this time, the ump walked to Joey on the mound and handed him another new ball. When the ump turned his back to walk back to the plate, Joey launched it on the roof, pulling another dud out. This was classic Joe. The next time we played against 'What The Heck', they brought a ladder with them.

My first memory to pop into my head is walking into the school yard and pulling one of our dog’s bone treats out of my pocket. Joe got a giant smile on his face and said “for me?” Yes it was for him. Don’t know why he liked them but he did. And ours were for large dogs- most important! Joe you were a great friend and we’ll miss you! God Bless!
