Robert John Fitzgerald
4/27/1947 – 9/25/2019
Robert John Fitzgerald of McKinney, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the age of 72. He was born April 27, 1947 to Marietrice (McDermott) and Edwin John Fitzgerald. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy and worked as a corrections officer in law enforcement.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert Fitzgerald II and his wife, Colleen, of McKinney, Texas; his grandsons, Jack, Nolan, Kiptin and Brody Fitzgerald; his lifelong friend and the love of his life, Joan Scibelli Neumann; his twin brother, Richard M. Fitzgerald and his wife, Ellen; his nephew, Sean Fitzgerald and his wife, Tara; his niece, Courtney Cardot and her husband, Andrew; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marietrice and Edwin Fitzgerald.
He will be waked at Charles J O’Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh, NY, on Thursday October 3, 2019, 2:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Internment will be Friday October 4, 2019, at 10:30 am, at St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.
