It was always fun visiting Aunt Mary and Uncle Joe. As the “young” Aunt and Uncle” they were light hearted and always seemed interested in who you were and what you were doing. Perhaps one of my most touching memories is the evening Roger and I spend with Aunt Mary and Uncle Joe after we became engaged. They invited us for dinner, Aunt Mary cooked a wonderful meal, set a beautiful table, candles and all, and just spent the time getting to know Roger. What a loving gesture. I also have a very vivid memory of Aunt Mary dancing with Rocky at his wedding - to the lovely tune of "Three Times a Lady".
I will always remember Aunt Mary’s love and support of Uncle Joey during his long illness. She was a model of optimism and resilience – such a strong woman.
I send my love to JoAnn, Maria, Rocky and their families during this difficult time. May we all hold on to our good memories of growing up together.

When Joanne called me about our beloved Aunt Mary she told me she was looking through letters from Uncle Joe to our Aunt. i vividly remembered an image of three very impressionable young girls and our aunt. Aunt Mary lived with my sisters Phyllis, Nancy and myself in a small house in Jamaica. There was a make shift bedroom the porch, with glass doors. We were not supposed to bother our aunt, but at night would bang on the door until she came out. Often she and our dear mom Vera would wash our hair, put those ridiculous bobby pins and a scarf around our heads so we would not get a cold. Then gathered around Aunt Mary or fighting to be on her lap, we would listen to those letters from Uncle Joe. What fun, what memories , what love of family we all shared at such a young age. When I spoke with my sister Nancy, she recalled that Aunt Mary will gather us around and sing to us as we danced in that small living room to her favorite song I Iove Paris". I do not know if she ever got to Paris, but I would love to think that heaven surrounded by all of those who she loved and we loved are now singing and dancing around with her. From myself, Nancy and Michael, we wish you all the memories your hearts can hold, and know although we are not always here we will forever be a family, full of memories and love.
