My heart is overflowing with sadness my dear Deej. Our friendship goes back a very long way and even though our lives took different paths as adults, when we did see each other, whether it was at a "Woodhaven" party or on the field at a game, it seemed that life didn't miss a beat and we always picked up right where we left off. I will always treasure the years we spent together as friends and companions and I will forever keep close to my heart the memories we made hanging out at the Circus or the Jug (where we met) and the many Grateful Dead shows we all went to together where we danced the night away. I am both lucky and blessed to have had you as a friend. Love and prayers to all the family. Rest in peace big guy….till we meet again. Love, Per.

I grew up with Dennis on the greatest block of kids in Ozone Park, 96th Street. We were always outside playing with our 96th Street "family of kids". The times we shared playing outside, the kids today will never understand. We all had a very strong bond growing up during that time. We celebrated all our younger day birthdays together and the fun and laughs will never be forgotten. I am beyond heartbroken to hear of his passing. I just wish we could have had the opportunity to re-connect in our older years to speak about the good 'ole days.
I'm so deeply sorry for his family, especially his children. The memories will forever remain in my heart and the hearts of everyone from 96th Street! Rest easy, my precious childhood friend!!!

On Behalf of New York Therapeutic Communities, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Greene family, especially to his children, Brianna, Kaelyn & Connor.
Dennis will be sorely missed. He worked for us as part time Nurse for over 12 years. He was so much more than just an employee. He was a friend, colleague and excellent nurse. He was my Harley Davidson Buddy.
He was great, caring and generous man. He went out of his way to help others. Gone Too Soon, R.I.P.

My heart hurts with the news of losing such a wonderful person. Although I am no longer married into the Greene family, I will always remember him as Uncle Dennis. I met Dennis through my fiancé whom was Dennis’s co-worker. We went to a Mets game together and then he invited us over for a BBQ a few weeks later. Although we only met twice, I will forever remember and be encouraged by dennis’s inclusivesness, warmth, & positivity. He shared with us his retirement plans - I was so inspired by his adventurous inclination to move overseas and will always remember how happy he was to talk about his new home abroad. In the short time i knew Dennis, i can tell he brought light, happiness, and love to all those he met. Dennis, you will be missed. You will be remembered.

Dennis will be on my mind because he was a good man. Everytime I asked him to come over for a drink or house warming he came with a huge plant which was so nice . He Also came to my moms house for my wedding party ... while he was at my moms he had found a tray of Japanese food and he told my mom why is this under the bed ..lol he delved into that food so much he loved it I was so happy he made it to my house for my pre wedding party. I know it’s going to be really hard on the e d without Dennis .... the last thing Dennis told me and posted on my Facebook account was where r u going now on vacation. That what I’m going to remember .... Dennis I will miss you..... pateick
