Obituary of Stephen J. Cesare
Stephen James Cesare left this world for his next adventure on November 7, 2018 at the young age of 55. He was the son of the late Kathleen and Steve of Merrick.
A truly loving, sarcastic brother and fan of late night calls to sisters Kathy, Mary Beth and Jean Marie. An avid back slapper and bear hugger to brothers in law Dave and Tim. Stephen was an over the top caring, generous and kind hearted uncle to Marie, John, Kaitlin, Elizabeth, Lily, Hadley and great nephew Cade. He was a most beloved favorite nephew to Mary and Eileen and fun-loving, life of the party to many cousins, friends and colleagues.
His passion for good food and cooking was present his whole life and most recently with the Levy restaurants at Nassau Coliseum.
Stephen enjoyed cheering on his NY teams - Giants, Rangers (why not the Islanders was always a heated debate) and Mets. We are sure he would have respectfully requested 6 NY Mets &/or Giants pall bearers so they could let him down one last time.
Our cousin Pete said it the best:
‘Stephen understood the most important thing he had in his life was family. He always knew that. In fact he sometimes made me feel cynical for taking it for granted.
Until his very end, he always wanted to work hard & hustle, and ended up working way harder than he had to given how smart he was, and he was always full of life & love. And laughs. Always that laugh. Gonna miss you Steve, and its going to take a while to realize you’re gone.’
