ZIMMER – Laurette L. (“Laurie”) (nee Lefebvre) peacefully on October 15, 2018 of Worcester, MA, formerly of Wantagh, NY, at the age of 88, surrounded by her son and daughters. Beloved wife of Donald who predeceased her shortly before their 60th anniversary. Loving mother of Donald, Catherine Z. Collins, (J. Christopher), Anne Z. Bradley (Brush), and Susanne Stone (James). Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Andrew, Rosie, Sarah, Daniel, Michelle, Nicole, Parker, and Christian. Adored sister in law of the late Robert (sister-in-law Marge), and the late John (late sister-in-law Patricia), and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurie grew her strength from her faith, family and friends. Her faith was unwavering, her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews was endless, and she fully enjoyed her friends and the various sewing groups she participated with over the years. She cherished the gift of family and considered her life blessed. Graduate of Hunter College (1951). Proud and long serving member of the local embroidery guild, as well as an active member of St. Frances de Chantal parish for over 50 years. She was an exceptional sewer, an avid reader, as well as faithful sailing companion to her husband, and a past member with her husband of South Bay Cruising Club and Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. She will be dearly missed by her loving children and grandchildren with whom she shared many delightful life events, laughter and wonderful memories. Mass of Christian Burial will be held October 27, 2018, 9:30 am at St. Frances de Chantal R.C. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
