Michael was such a dear to me. He said that I always made him smile, but he always made me smile. He was in my homeroom for several years. A sweet, protective, kind fellow, with a heart of gold. I am in deep grief to know that his light is no longer shining in the world. I have thought of him so often over the years, and it was a joy to see him at the high school reunions. I will always think of him as "Big Julie" in GUYS AND DOLLS. He was wonderful in that part, and he had a most beautiful voice. Rest in peace my dear, adorable friend...

It was my great pleasure to know Michael Nova from 7th grade at Lawrence
Junior High School to the last time I spoke to him after Superstorm Sandy.
EVERYBODY loved Mike! "Nova". That one word - and everybody knew
you were talking about Mike. Full of fun and friendship, he was always
your pal. A sparkle in his eye when he kidded you. Larger than life in many
ways. A great friend to see at numerous class reunions.

May Mike RIP, I have many fond memories of Mike and our band that we had in High school. Mike, Louie and I joined the "chorus" in high school so we could learn to sing. We formed a band in the early days of high school around the mid 60's. He was such a good singer & friend. We all love those days playing around town at church dancers, school dancers etc. We love it, Mike loved singing for everyone. The years got away from Mike and I, I moved to Florida in the mid 70's, and stayed in touch with mike from time to time. He moved to Florida a few years ago I help him find a Villa here and we got together now and then. I meet his family here and he talked so proudly about our band days to them, at diner once he was glowing... He will be missed. RIP Mike I love you "brother"

A gentle soul who I went through elementary school with - singing and being in the band. Michael loved music - all kinds. Aways a smile and a lending ear. I can still remember Mr. Nova driving up in his van at WCU to drop off and pick up Gina. He was such a great Dad and it was so obvious how much his girls loved him! Many nice memories of such a wonderful man! Prayers to all!

I’m feeling real sad and sorry my good friend has passed on. Mike and I went to P.S #4 thru LHS together. He was also an Usher at my wedding in 1973. I use to hang with him at his home and he hang with me at mine. I kne his mom and sister very well. A good friend of the family and will be dearly missed. RIP my friend.
