My heart is breaking. Ian was one of my most special students I ever had the honor of teaching. Ian was in my AP Psychology in his junior year. Knowing that I had cancer as well, Ian came by to chat after school at least once a week about how he was doing, his cancer, my cancer. We shared a very special teacher-student bond. Since I retired as a result of my cancer spreading, I have though of Ian often. He was sensitive, compassionate and wise beyond his young age. Please know my heart aches for your family Ian will live in my thoughts for as long as I remain on this Earth. My sympathies and love to the Mass family.

I had the honor of coaching Ian in football when he was 6 years old. Even then he was a fighter who gave all. His parents were two of the best people I ever met while coaching.
