I have been very fortunate to know Marie. She was truly a woman of style and vision. She had a GREAT EYE and could visualize the perfect juxtaposition of color, texture, light... creating so much beautiful design.
Always impeccably put together, a petite with commanding stature, and so brave. She thought nothing of climbing a shaky ladder in pumps with brooch neatly pinned to her matching suit jacket, checking the measurement again to make sure it was correct. A consummate perfectionist, Marie didn't mind shortcuts or hard work as long as in the end the job was done right.
The tidbits she'd share about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were full of love and caring, and you just knew she received as much in return. She made delicious cranberry bread, coffee cake, and those yummy chocolate kiss cookies, and these made plenty of people happy.
I am a richer person for having met Marie and will keep her in my heart.
