I am saddened to hear of the passing of Caroline. My family lived downstairs from the Scmidts and she and I went to Our Lady of Sorrows Parochial School and spent the years growing up together. One day, she encouraged me to ride our bikes from Corona to Bayside. I was so scared, but I followed her and it was a big accomplishment for me . I didn't tell my mother about it and was so frightened that she would be so angry, but ,in fact, she didn't seem upset at all. We lost touch with each other after we moved away.
Caroline was an intelligent and serious person. We would practice our fifes together as we were in the school band. Lots of good memories. May she rest in peace and find joy wherever she is. Old friend

Caroline was a lovely person. She was full of faith and never missed a chance to hear Daily Mass. We will surely miss her at St. Raphael's Church. Rest in Peace, Caroline.

Prayers and sympathy for our entire family at this time. Aunt Caroline had a great way of making my sister, Erica, and I feel special when we would spend a week in at East Meadow during our summer breaks. I loved helping her get her classroom set up for the year! She always appreciated a visit on the phone or in person when those could happen and has inspired a sense of service to faith through her volunteer time at the church. Peaceful rest, Aunt Caroline, for you are truly home with our Lord.

Aunt Carol,
I was very blessed to have you as my Aunt and Godmother and to have you live across the street from us growing up. Thank you for the encouragement, guidance and discipline. And even the Irish dancing lessons that I failed so royally at! You were a very important person in my life with my mom, dad and brothers. I know you are at peace now and are with grandma and grandpa and all the angels that you loved so much. If you see my beloved Toby (Feline Tobias BartholoMEOW) I know he would love to cuddle with you for eternity. I look forward until we meet again. Until then, you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you Aunt Carol!

Caroline was a gentle, generous friend and teacher who lived faith, hope and love. She was very thoughtful of everyone, including us Sisters who lived at St. Raphael's. Caroline shared many laughs, although life was not always easy, and even went Irish set dancing with me. If anyone is soaring to heaven, it's "Sweet Caroline!" Miss you, but not in thought or prayer!
