I worked with John in the Third Pct. and we were on a bowling team with Lt. Elmer Wurtz.
I would bump into John every so often when visiting Long Island from Florida.
I read about the passing of other officers but reading Johns name has left me sad and it leaves me with a hollow feeling.
I know it has been 40 years since we worked together but some fellows you do not forget. He was a good fellow.

Hello
I happened upon this while looking for my Father’s obituary . My dad was Elmer Wurtz who was Chief of SCPD when he retired in 1988 and passed away I 1989. I remember he loved that bowling league and always brought us home a pizza after bowling on Friday nights

Dear Lynn and family, this is cousin Debby. Jean called today and I am so sorry for your great loss. Even though we didn't see each other for many years the memories of our youth( as my sister Carole today remembered John's playful teasing.... ) never go away. I don't know why but it is funny how we love each other in spite of the distance and the years. We felt it with Peter and of course we feel for Jimmy who has our deepest sympathy. In my mind and heart I can be right back to those days of family and always fun. God Bless you Lynn and your family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I know he has a great reception in Heaven.
