POKALSKY – Evelyn, January 4, 1933-July 29, 2017, departed this world surrounded by her family, including her husband of 62 years, Peter A. Pokalsky, and seven children: Joseph (Nicole), Michael (Susan), Ann (Ted), John (Catherine), Paul, Mary (John) and Matthew (Susan). Her son Peter predeceased her. Beloved grandmother to Michael, Stephen, Jack, Caroline, Jake, Christopher, Carlee, Peter, Andrew, Annie and Ella. Evelyn devoted her life to her family, worked as a nurse and always helped others. Her hobbies included ceramics, sewing, gardening and crocheting. A woman of great faith, Evelyn served in the Ministry of Consolation and the Rosary Society at St. Raphael's Church, East Meadow. She is sorely missed by her family and friends
