The consummate troubadour
At all gatherings and celebrations,
Lil masterfully wove together
The strands of the stories of our lives
Through familiar time-honored melodies
That beckoned us all to sing along.
Mother of three
Grandmother of many
Great-grandmother of even more,
She was proud of her family
and reveled in the warmth of their love.
Of course, who among us could ever
Match the exquisite culinary delight
Of her simple, yet famous cheesecake,
A recipe passed down through generations
and a Must-have at every occasion.
Throughout all the ups and downs
In her life of 88 years,
She maintained her smile and gentle nature,
Making the best of things
Through a practice of
Acceptance, forgiveness, and kindness.
A Greenpoint Girl of humble beginnings,
Lil truly tripped the light fantastic
On the sidewalks of New York,
Forever leaving behind
Unforgettable songprints upon our hearts.
