Anna V. Machmer, of Wantagh, New York passed away on December 13, 2016 at the age of 94. Anna was born at home in Centerport, Pennslyvania on April 21, 1922. She was the first in her family to speak English rather than Pennslyvania Dutch. She worked as a secretary at Carpenter Steel during World War II. She married William Machmer and after the war they moved to Levittown. Her husband a war hero flew for Eastern Air Lines. Anna raised two boys Michael (who later married Nancy Cooper) and Philip (who later married Teresa Riordan) in Wantagh. She is the proud grandmother of Laura, Brian and William and great grandmother of Ben and Leo. The family will receive friends Saturday 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home 603 Wantagh Ave,(Exit 28 N SS Pkwy) Wantagh N.Y. Religious services will be held at 8 pm at the funeral home.
