Salvatore J. Ferrara of Wantagh, NY passed away on April 6, 2016 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Rose. Loving father of Joseph Ferrara MD (Clarisse C. Ferrara MD), Peter Ferrara DDS (Christine), and Victoria Ferrara- Loris Esq. (Dr. Michelle Loris). Cherished grandfather of Maja, Ann, Joseph, Angela, Angelo, Kristin, Kate, Susan, Margaret, Salvatore, and Nicholas. Adored great-grandfather of Lucy, Antonio, and Dakota. As a young man Sal excelled as a football, baseball, and basketball star at St. John’s Prep continuing through St. John’s University where he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 1982. Proud WWII US Naval Lieut: Captained a Patrol Torpedo Boat in the Mediteranian Sea. Dedicated former F.B.I. Agent and Director of Investigations for the New York State Racing and Wagering Board. Family will receive friends Friday, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home 603 Wantagh Ave (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY.
