It's taken me a few days but I am ready now to say what a great man my father was. He had several life mottos that we lived by..............."I may not always be right, but I'm always the boss".............this one kept me in line. "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all", this one helped me through my career and made me the perfectionist that I am.
Dad was a role model to many, especially to me and as the saying goes, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". If the checking account is off by a penny, nobody sleeps, if the pictures are crooked, don't pass them by without straightening and most of all, "take initiative".............this was the #1 driver in my life. If I hadn't take the initiative to do things that I thought were impossible, I would have been in a very different place than I am today, all thanks to Dad. I only hope that I can follow in his footsteps for my remaining years, which I'm hoping are many, and be loved and admired by as many as he is. Miss you Dad already and there is now a void in my life that will never be replaced but, as you always said, "this too shall pass". Rest in loving peace.
Your loving daughter, Ginny

Fred was a wonderful man. I met him and his family in 1969 when his niece Sue married my brother Greg. Over the years we would see one another when he was in Tahoe or at a family wedding. Although the visits were few and far between I was always greeted with warmth and kindness, like family. My husband Graham and I had the pleasure to visit Fred and Jay, Ginny, Cindy and the boys several Decembers back and partake in their holiday celebration. This will remain a fond memory for the years to come. Laughter, kindhearted, and welcoming...that was Fred. You will be missed.
Our thoughts are with Jay and the family, Wendy and Graham Swann

Dear Uncle Fred,
I will always remember the many Maryland and New York family visits with you, Aunt Janet, Ginny, and Cindy throughout my life whether it be a baptism, wedding, special birthday celebration, family reunion, etc., your fun and positive personality was always felt and admired. Such good memories, like when I was younger the fun times we shared on the ski and road trips in Vermont and New York where you taught me how to ski, or when putting your small Sunfish boat on the top of your car and driving down to Jones beach to sail it while enjoying a special lunch on it (beer or wine and cheese or pepperoni was all we needed!), but most of all I will miss are one on one special talks and great conversations whether serious or fun about so many life things, and your jokes, and great stories about all the interesting things you did in your life and travels, your car business and do-it-yourself knowledge, and the many interesting people you met like when driving the Limo.. You always seem to know what to say and do, and were truely one of those persons i looked up to as a great uncle, person, and role model. One thing you definately taught me was not to take life too seriously, and remember to enjoy it and have fun.. Rest in peace Uncle Fred, may God always be with you. Give my love to the family.
Love, your nephew Vinny

I remember always waiting to hear the latest adventure of Ginny's Dad. Sailing down the river during the bicentennial celebration or skiing on the slopes. May he rest in peace with maybe just a little adventure thrown in.
Our Sincere Condolences To The Pati Family

I remember meeting Fred for the first time at Tahoe when I was dating Jill (now my wife of 20+ yrs) and he had invited us to join him on the slopes for a day. I was in my 20's and thought... who is this old guy skiing?!?!? Poor guy won't be able to last a half day. Well, he actually wore me out and then wanted to ski even more! Fred was a great guy and I still speak of him with my co-workers and friends as an example of the life I would like to lead now and when I'm older...a very active life and to enjoy the outdoors like he did.
All our best to you and your family. We will miss Uncle Fred!
