Mr. Malik was born June 30, 1944 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Anna (Sloacek) Malik. Beloved husband of Maryann. Devoted father of John, Jr. and Richard (Carolyn). Proud grandfather of Richard and Alianna. Dear brother of Stephen and the late Joseph. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed by NYPD as a Police Detective. Visitation hours will be Tuesday, January 26 from 2 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes, 2515 N. Jerusalem Rd., East Meadow, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate his life will be held 9:45 am on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Raphael RC Church, 600 Newbridge Road, East Meadow, NY with entombment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
