My sincere condolences to Linda and James for your loss of a great man. I have known John for 39 years. Loved his sense of humor. We always joked with each other. A lot of laughs over the years. Whenever we could we would bring up the old days and make them be real again in our thoughts. Driving around, listening to the beach boys, going pass the blue lights as we called them. Just driving around the turnpike and talking and joking around. I'll miss you my friend. You'll Always be in my heart, my thoughts. Until we meet again.

I met John five years ago when he hired me to be a doorman at the O'shea funeral home. From that point on we became good friends and he always had a helping hand to assist when we worked the same shift. I will never forget the long discussions we had about our Sicilian heritage and growing up in Brooklyn,he knew it all from the family dinners and his Italian food which he loved. A tough loss but you are in a better place rest in peace, you will be missed.

to Linda Columbo- I am married to John's cousin Linda. So sorry for your loss. John and I first met at Blair Mail back in the mid 1970's and our friendship and kinship is never ending.
John - we had many great times together over the years. The fun times at Blair Mail when we worked together. And that one Saturday when we worked over time and one of the bosses came in. John said, " what's she in for ? " And I replied " 30 years to life ! " All of us laughed loudly including Mary Timen ( the aforementioned strict boss) !! John also had a wicked sense of humor and he was always the life of the party. He had a devout love of God, family (his parents meant the world to him), and for his wife Linda. Everyone must go through their own " GOOD FRIDAY " in order to experience their never ending " EASTER SUNDAY ". John may the Lord's FACE and Grace shine upon you always !!!! May God Grant Peace to all who mourn your passing and bring comfort to his many friends!!!! It is the fondest of memories that keeps John Columbo's spirit alive in each and every one of us who were blessed to know him, enjoy his friendship, and the generous warmth that radiated amongst us through his good graces. Rest in Never Ending LOVE, WARMTH AND KINDNESS THAT GOD the FATHER, JESUS HIS ONLY SON, MARY OUR VIRGIN MOTHER TO ALL, AND ALL OF HIS SAINTS - AMEN !!!!

Having worked with John for few years at the funeral home I got to know a very nice person. As being the new kid on the block at O' SHEA'S, John was a big help to me. Always had the time to help me. God is getting a good guy.

Having worked with John for many years, and having had many private conversations with him, I knew him to be a man of great moral character. He loved his country and its flag, and had great respect for those who served in uniform. He loved his wife, his family, and his mom's meatballs....
John was always decent and fair to me in every way in our work environment at the O'Shea Funeral Home. We shared many private thoughts, laughed a lot, and I know he was very committed to his work ethic. He always did more than his share of the work load, and was always available to help out his co-workers.
Well John, you have been officially relieved by the Good Lord of your duties as a doorman at the funeral home BUT for a much higher purpose: I know you will be there to open the pearly gates of Heaven for us when we meet again. REST IN PEACE!
