Mr. Zuech was a really nice man - proud grandparent, reserved yet wise. I have a number of fond memories of him. However, one in particular stays with me. I know he always enjoyed making his own wine - which he was quite proud of and "potent" to say the least!
One afternoon, after enjoying a glass of his new vintage, I was struggling a bit to speak clearly and there was Mr. Zuech watching me with a tiny smile on his face. That was Mr. Zuech - modest and reserved even when he must have been laughing loudly inside at me.
Mr. Zuech, thank you for the wine, thank you for raising such wonderful children, and most importantly - thank you for giving me the best lifelong friend in your son. For that, I will always be grateful.
Rest in peace Mr Zuech.
