Rosemary Fleming, 86, of Point Lookout, New York, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025. Born on August 5, 1938, she was the second of six children to Michael Dunne Sr. and Emily Dunne (née McGunnigle). Rosemary was the devoted wife of the late Gregory Fleming Jr. and a loving mother to Christine Bailey (Mark), Lauren Eschmann (Peter), and Stephen Fleming (Tracey). She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren - Abbie, Maddy, Katie, Jack, Andrew, Ethan, Ty, Eileen, Colin, Kiera and Matthew, who brought her immense joy. Rosemary was raised in Mineola, New York with her siblings Patricia, Bernadette, Michael, Sharon and Catherine. In her final years she was watched over by her devoted caregivers Liza Mawili and Annie Quilang. Rosemary was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Academy High School, Hofstra University and Queens College where she received her Masters. Rosemary began her career as a teacher before transitioning to computer programming at Suffolk Community College, where she made significant contributions over many years. A true lover of life, Rosemary was known for her vibrant spirit and zest for entertaining. She hosted memorable parties and found great pleasure in playing bridge and mahjong with friends including the world famous Point Lookout Bridge Biddies. An avid golfer, she competed enthusiastically on an amateur level, bringing her characteristic energy to the fairways. Rosemary’s warmth, kindness, compassion and love for family and friends will be deeply missed. We will gather to celebrate her life June 5, 2025 4:00pm - 7:00pm at O’Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh Avenue, NY 11793. A mass will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 75 Parkside Drive, Point Lookout, NY 11569 on June 6, 2025 at 10:00am. Final resting place following the mass at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590.
