In Loving Memory of David John Flummer

December 29, 1961 – May 27, 2025 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Flummer on May 27, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Oneonta, New York, on December 29, 1961, David later settled in Huntington, New York, where he built a life filled with laughter, love, and lasting friendships. David is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie Flummer; his beloved sons, Grayson and Derek—his greatest joy and proudest accomplishments; his loving mother, Phyllis Zona; his sister, Diane Wennell; and his cherished niece, Lauren Wennell. He is also remembered fondly by many extended family members from the Oneonta area, Jackie’s many siblings, and a wide circle of friends from Long Island who were touched by his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. David is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Hayley Paige, who held a forever place in his heart. His love for her was deep and unwavering, and he carried her memory with him always. David will be remembered most for his kindness, friendliness, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. He had a remarkable way of making people laugh and feel at ease, and he truly loved being around others. A man full of curiosity, he seemed to know a million facts and delighted in sharing them. He loved dreaming about his plans to beautify his home, always envisioning ways to make it more welcoming and filled with character.

Basketball was one of David’s great passions—not only as a fan but as a dedicated coach. He proudly coached both of his sons, sharing the game he loved while instilling values of teamwork, confidence, and perseverance. He also loved riding his motorcycle, traveling the country with his family, and spending time with his beloved dogs—Roxy, Genny, and Rudy—who have all since passed. Above all, David was a family man through and through. His love for his children was boundless, and his life was shaped by the joy he found in fatherhood. David was remembered and loved deeply by all who knew him—for his laughter, his warmth, and the lasting impressions he left in every room he entered.
