Obituary
HATZELMAN - Roseanne passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 88. Roseanne Hatzelman is a lifelong resident of East Meadow, who dedicated her life to helping others. Roseanne is a member, as well as a past president, of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce. The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce recognized Roseanne’s work by naming her “Woman of the Year” in 1997. In addition, Roseanne serves as a member of the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizens Affairs Advisory Council.
Roseanne’s main passion however has been her work with the church. As a member of the St. Raphael Parish, Roseanne serves on the Ministry Advisory Council, volunteers with the parish’s social ministry and serves as a Lector. Roseanne also finds time to be a literacy volunteer at Northern Parkway School in Uniondale, and is a member of the East Meadow League for Mercy Medical
Center.
Despite all of her dedication to her church and community, Roseanne believes her greatest accomplishments in life are being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Married to Ernest until his passing in 2006, Roseanne and her husband raised four children and have 12 grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest. Devoted mother of the late Joseph and Kathleen, Albert and Nancy, Terry and Chris Meade, and Debbie and Kyle Brengel. Loving grandmother of Kimberly, Sean, Kyle, Cory, Joseph, Thomas, Nicholas, Tara, Justin, Matthew, Haley, and Timmy. Adored by her 12 great-grandchildren. Devoted sister of Angelo and Marie Catalano and predeceased by her siblings Lucy and Stosh Rybak, Frank and Connie Catalano. Loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will receive friends Friday, 4 pm – 8 pm, at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home 2515 N. Jerusalem Rd. (Exit 25N SS Pkwy) East Meadow. Funeral Mass Saturday 11:15 at St. Raphael RC Church, East Meadow. Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury. www.osheafuneral.com
