Catherine L. McCaffrey, of East Meadow, NY, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Walter McCaffrey, Catherine was the devoted matriarch of a large and loving family. She was the cherished mother of Kevin (Theresa Bertrand), Walter (Mari Ann), Helen Hyder, the late Catherine Viola (David), the late Gerard (Ann), and John (Buffy). Catherine took great pride in her role as a grandmother and was deeply loved by her grandchildren: Mallory Jerge (Eric), Dayna Viola (Francisco Ceballos), Ethan Viola (Meredith), Kaitlin McCaffrey (Jordan Benner), Joseph McCaffrey (Lauren), Drew Hyder, McKayla McCaffrey, and Shaun McCaffrey (Sabrina). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kailey McCaffrey, Liam Jerge, Logan Jerge, Lucus Jerge, Lena Ceballos, Anna Viola, Cecilia Viola, Keira McCaffrey, and Brantley McCaffrey. Catherine will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warmth, and her gentle strength. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
