Obituary

Rosario R. Paladino (Russ), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Oceanside, NY, at the age of 85. Born on December 15, 1939, in New York City, Rosario lived a life full of love, hard work, and passion for his family and community. Russ is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Evelyn, and their three children: John (Carolyn), Russ (Lisa), and Karyn. He was a proud grandfather of Andrew, Jessica, Luke Noah, Jill and Evan Maddox. Along with his great grandchild Daniel whose lives were enriched by his wisdom and care. Family was the cornerstone of Russ’s life, and his dedication to his loved ones was unwavering. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Mina Gianola (Joseph) and Mae Sabatino (Frank), with whom he shared a deep bond of love and support.

A lifelong learner, Rosario earned a Master’s degree and was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He cherished his family, always encouraging his children and grandchildren to pursue their passions. Russ loved music and was an accomplished saxophonist, instilling a deep appreciation for music in his children by teaching them how to play various instruments. In addition to his love of music, Russ was a passionate fan of the New York Mets and spent many enjoyable hours watching games. He also had a deep affection for horseback riding and swimming, finding solace and joy in these activities throughout his life.

Russ’s generosity extended beyond his family. He was a dedicated sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), offering his support to countless individuals on their journey to recovery. His kindness, wisdom, and guidance impacted many lives, and his legacy of service to others will not be forgotten. Russ will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A man who valued hard work, family, and music, he leaves behind a lasting imprint of love, strength, and devotion.
